Act 48 Credit for KEI Proficiency Assignment

I’ve heard that teachers can get Act 48 credit for competing the Proficiency Assignment for KEI – is that true?

Yes, it is true! For teachers who completed the KEI Proficiency Assignment after January 1, 2023, OCDEL will provide three (3) hours of Act 48 credit. In order for the credit to be awarded, teachers must make sure that they have provided their PPID upon registering to complete the KEI Proficiency Assignment.

If you need to update or add your PPID to your KEI user account, please contact us at KEI@csiu.org.

The Professional Development Protocol (KEI Proficiency Assignment database) is currently open for registration and can be accessed at your convenience using the following link:PA KEI Professional Development

PA KEI Implementation for 2025-2026!

Thank you to all of the teachers and staff who participated in the KEI this year! We appreciate all of your efforts in supporting Kindergarten students in the state of Pennsylvania.

Information on the implementation of the Pennsylvania Kindergarten Entry Inventory for 2025-26 school year will be coming soon.

The following activities must occur prior to PA KEI Implementation:

  • Demographic data on schools, classrooms, teachers, and students must be set up in the PA KEI data system. This can occur by through manual data entry or by use of the automatic data upload process.
  • Teachers must complete the Professional Development Protocol and obtain “Proficient User” Status (effective for 5 years).

Need a Copy of Your Proficiency Certificate?

We are happy to announce our PA KEI Professional Development Course has been redesigned and was launched in May 2020.  Therefore, if you took the course in the past, you will not be able to print out your current certificate.  If you need a copy for your records, then please email us at KEI@csiu.org and we will be happy to email a copy to you.
