Beginning on Saturday, February 17, 2024, PA KEI Database Users will need to update their password every 60 days. This change is being made in order to enhance security measures and to protect student data. If you need to update your password, the system will notify you when you attempt to log in. PA Kindergarten Entry Inventory Informational Sessions – Sign Up Today!

The Office of Child Development and Early Learning along with Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit are offering two informal KEI informational sessions in April, 2023.

If you want to learn about KEI implementation in your school or have any specific questions relating to the KEI, please plan to register and join one our 1-hour sessions listed below:

PA KEI Teacher and Administrator Software Trainings – 2024

The Office of Child Development and Early Learning along with Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit will offer KEI software training sessions in August and September, 2024. There are two different training paths to choose from: Teacher and Administrator.

The dates are for each training path are listed below:

ADMINISTRATION TRAINING (Administrators, Principals, Data Entry Staff, and Point of Contact Users)

Act 48 Credit for KEI Proficiency Assignment

I’ve heard that teachers can get Act 48 credit for competing the Proficiency Assignment for KEI – is that true?

Yes, it is true! For teachers who completed the KEI Proficiency Assignment after January 1, 2023, OCDEL will provide three (3) hours of Act 48 credit. In order for the credit to be awarded, teachers must make sure that they have provided their PPID upon registering to complete the KEI Proficiency Assignment.

PA KEI Implementation for 2024-2025!

Thank you to all of the teachers and staff who participated in the KEI this year! We appreciate all of your efforts in supporting Kindergarten students in the state of Pennsylvania.

Information on the implementation of the Pennsylvania Kindergarten Entry Inventory for 2024-25 school year will be coming soon.

The following activities must occur prior to PA KEI Implementation:

  • Demographic data on schools, classrooms, teachers, and students must be set up in the PA KEI data system. This can occur by through manual data entry or by use of the automatic data upload process.
  • Teachers must complete the Professional Development Protocol and obtain “Proficient User” Status (effective for 5 years).

Need a Copy of Your Proficiency Certificate?

We are happy to announce our PA KEI Professional Development Course has been redesigned and was launched in May 2020.  Therefore, if you took the course in the past, you will not be able to print out your current certificate.  If you need a copy for your records, then please email us at [email protected] and we will be happy to email a copy to you.

KEI Data System Date to Know

The KEI data system is currently closed to data entry.  Information will still be available in read only format for all users. If you should need any assistance, please feel free to contact KEI Technical Support at [email protected].  The KEI data system will open to data entry at the beginning of the 2023-24 school year.
