The KEI-POC is a specific user role in the system this year and acts as the liaison between local education agency (LEA) administrative staff, implementing kindergarten teachers, and OCDEL and data systems staff (CSIU). Having a dedicated KEI-POC ensures that effective communication and implementation occurs throughout the KEI process.
The responsibilities of the KEI-POC are to:
- Ensure all implementing teachers participate in the required professional development protocol prior to implementation.
- Serve as a support to participating teachers sharing resources needed for successful completion
- Communicate with both implementing teachers and with building and district level administrators.
- Ensure data collection ends on the 45th calendar day of the school year and student outcomes are entered into the on-line data system 15 days thereafter. This year we are asking the KEI-POC’s to confirm that implementing teachers finalize their data once complete and in the data system. Information on steps needed to finalize the data can be found on the KEI landing page.
